This archive grows through the community. Photographs, recordings, family genealogies and corrections are all welcome.
What we are looking for
- Photographs — historic or recent, with date, place, people (with consent) and photographer.
- Oral histories — audio or written accounts from elders. Please note speaker, village, clan, dialect and date of recording.
- Corrections & sources — if a statement is wrong or incomplete, send a citable source.
Consent and care
- We publish only with the speaker’s informed consent (or a family member’s for deceased elders).
- Testimonies about conflict or displacement can be anonymised; we will never publish location details that could put someone at risk.
- Oral histories are labelled Oral tradition and are not edited to fit written records.
How to send
No account is needed. To help us check your contribution, please include:
- A correction: the page, the sentence, and a source.
- An oral history: the speaker’s name, village, clan, dialect and date, and their agreement to publication.
- A photo: the date, the place, who is in it, and who took it.
Developers can also open an issue or pull request on GitHub.

The written history on this site is shared under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0. You may share and adapt it, with credit to “Zogam History, tangthu.kws.site,” under the same licence. The site’s code is under the MIT License.
Quotations remain the property of their authors. Photos and oral histories you send remain yours: you give us permission to publish them here with credit, and you can ask us to remove them at any time.
